Donny's Intense Basketball Conditioning/Drills
About
I was trained by the best and learned from the best...now you can be too. With over 15 years of coaching experience, ranging from 4th grade AAU (Riverside Church Harlem, NYC) up to the highest level of varsity basketball in the country (St Anthony Jersey City, NJ) I cater every workout to meet the needs of each individual...and you WILL workout. I am intense, prepared, willing to travel, and absolutely love what I do!!!
I love the sport of basketball and thoroughly enjoy teaching it to kids of all ages. Watching the development and progress of skills for any level of player is extremely satisfying. As a father of 2, I treat each player as I would like my own to be treated.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I learn just exactly it is he or she would like to accomplish. Every player has a different mentality so I find it important to connect with each student according to each individual makeup. Next we formulate a plan of action as to how to go about teaching the goals sets.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 15 years of coaching experience. During this time, I have coached children from 4th-12th grade. I have learned drills and strategies from Hall of Fame coach Bob Hurley, as I was one of his assistants for the past 4 years. I also have trained AAU players of every age. I work in sales, so I feel that I have an advantage over other trainers due to the fact that I must engage and gain trust immediately from potential clients the same way I must with my players.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Prices are flexible. Please contact me with questions.
How did you get started teaching?
I have always had a desire to learn and believe this to be a trait that is crucial for teaching. After graduating college with honors, I pursued a teaching career in Germany. There, I taught English as a Second Language. I enjoy the classroom but also enjoy the playgroup as well!!!
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with every type of athlete imaginable. I am fair and consistent with my approach regardless of any factor.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Just like a potential employer would, I would advise to interview the candidate. People write everything possible on a resume to sound more suited for a position than thy actually are. Let's meet up and see if I am the right person for you.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Be honest with yourself about your current abilities and goals. Set both short-term as well as long-term goals. Write them down. Review them daily. I am honest and feel that transparency and communication are very important in having a beneficial working relationship.
