Artful Lessons
About
I am no longer giving lessons.
I will teach to your level of skills in order to build those skills along with your confidence in creating your art.
I got to high school before I ever had the opportunity to take art. Until then I was pretty bad at stick figures. I took art all four years and learned the skills necessary to excel in art. Learning new skills takes practice, the more you learn and practice the better you get.
I am passionate about everything to do with art. I have loved teaching art for nearly 23 years now. I started out with the little ones, k-4 and then moved on to middle school and now I am teaching middle and high school. By the way I enjoy my seniors, most of whom are in their late teens, and from teaching some of my friends I already know I love teaching adults.
I will love helping you on your journey to learn about artmaking.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I tailor my teaching toward the level of skill of my student.
Reviewing the basics is always the first step. Once I go over them I will have you draw something so I can assess your skill level unless you brought some samples/photos of your work.
Since art takes time, my lessons are 90 minutes. You will need a sketchbook at each lesson. Since art takes practice, I'll give you homework too.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Five years at Tyler School of Art/Temple University graduating Magna cum laude with a BFA and Teaching certification.
