Award-winning experienced teacher of cello, both Suzuki and traditional lessons.

Welcome to the Brons Cello Studio!

An experienced traditional and Suzuki cello teacher, Martha Brons' passion for cello has excited many students. Former students are active in many professions, and some have graduated from the most prestigious music schools with music careers.

Mrs. Brons was awarded the American String Teachers' South Carolina Studio Teacher of the Year Award in 2008. She was selected by the SC Arts Commission as a Community Tour Artist with the Heritage Chamber Players.

She studied with members of the Philadelphia and Cleveland Orchestras. Her degrees in Cello Performance are from the University of Illinois and the Philadelphia Musical Academy. She has been a faculty member at North Greenville College, SC, and Bob Jones University and Cello Specialist in the Philadelphia Archdiocese Schools.

Now located in West Orange, NJ, Mrs. Brons is able to accept a limited number of students.

I like to meet with prospective students to check on instrument size and adjustments, and to make sure we will be happy with each other.

I have degrees in Cello Performance from the University of Illinois and the Philadelphia Musical Academy.  Took Suzuki Training, and have attended many Institutes and Conferences. 

Yes.  I bill students in advance for 15 lessons.

I had my first students when I was in high school.  That was in the 1950's, as I am no longer young.

I was South Carolina ASTA's Studio Teacher of the Year in 1988.

 I have prepared college-level students for music degrees, and started little four-year olds.  I love all ages.

Some of my former students were admitted to excellent music schools, like Oberlin and Eastman.  Some are doctors, teachers.  One is a judge!

I am pleased with each student's progress.
