About
Linda Sant'Ambrogio is a born teacher as well as a born dance artist. As early as fourth grade, she would be surrounded at lunchtime and recess by younger children for whom she would make up stories and dances, and encourage the younger students to act and dance them out. That impulse came from deep within her, simply being a part of her nature. Throughout her active career as a performer, she insured her survival by teaching rather than in some other non-arts area such as waiting tables, as most artists have to do. She has always had a dual passion for teaching and for the performing arts.
Because Ms. Sant'Ambrogio's educational background contains study in both the arts and in cognition and learning, her teaching philosophy is artistic, cognitive and interdisciplinary in nature. Through the medium of dance, storytelling, and music, she works with cognitive concepts, thus strengthening student technical expertise while encouraging creativity, critical thinking and personal growth. She does extensive activities that develop and support the creativity that insures higher order thinking. She also brings that special expertise that can only come from professional experience in one’s discipline.
Ms. Sant'Ambrogio holds a State of NJ Teaching Certificate, a teaching certification in yoga and a Zumba teaching license. She is trained in injury recovery and prevention, and in placement and alignment.
Ms. Sant'Ambrogio is also trained in piano keyboard, and teaches beginner and elementary level classes to children and adults. Her overall expertise is unique in her field.
My three passions in life are dance, music, and teaching. They enrich my life, and allow me to enrich the lives of others. It gives me joy to guide my students to find a sense of their own beauty, uniqueness and accomplishment. Doing so has always been my great strength.

How did you get started teaching?
I have been teaching since I was in fourth grade; it is simply a part of my nature. In elementary school I would be surrounded at lunchtime and recess by younger children for whom I would make up stories and dances, and encourage the younger students to act and dance them out. I taught throughout my college and performing years, and have been teaching ever since. It is one of my passions to see my students grow.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked successfully with students of all age levels, including students with Learning Differences.
