About
Art Studio is a place to create art, be inspired by famous and emerging artists’ work and experiment with different media in a relaxed & professional studio environment.
Students learn a combination of basic drawing skills and techniques, since drawing is the foundation for all visual art. Basic art skills will be inspired by brief introductions of famous (and not so famous) artists’ lives and their work. An emphasis will be placed on personal exploration, creative growth and problem solving in a supportive atmosphere.
I enjoy working with all different kinds of people from 5 to 95!
I provide a custom and comfortable space for Fall, Winter & Spring art lessons, Teen Night classes, Mini-Camps, Summer Camp, Birthday Parties and Parents Night Out!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
There is no typical process. I find out what the student's goals are before making a plan.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
BFA, Kansas City Art Institue. Continuing Ed classes at Parsons School of Design, Pratt & School of the Visual Arts. Twenty years as a published illustrator and Art Director. Experience in magazine publishing, licensing and the film industry.
How did you get started teaching?
I loved working with my own children!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
There is no right or wrong in art, create art from the heart.
