Express Yourself Studios is an art studio and art gallery dedicated to being an outlet for children and adults to express themselves creatively via classes in the arts. As well as a space where artist are welcome to display their work and create utilizing the studio’s space. The Studio offers Pinot & Pottery, Cocktails & Canvas, Coffee & Canvas, and Wine Glass Painting Workshops for adults and weekly Art Classes and a Summer Art Workshop, for children; as well as hosts Private Art Workshops, Birthday Parties and other art events throughout the year. Seeing individuals develop their artistic skills while having fun discovering their own personal style. Working from still life, photographs, images from art history and/or independent themes and ideas, students will be introduced to specific drawing and painting fundamentals and techniques. These include line drawing, value, shape, pattern, texture, shading and highlighting. While experimenting with a variety tools, media and techniques.

Classes are available for children (ages 4-12). All materials are included, and there are a wide variety of classes to choose from. Kid’s classes include: Mixed Media, Drawing & Painting, Sculpture and Cartoon Workshops. Children's workshops range between $20 - $25

How did you get started teaching?
Simone Anthony-Brown is an artist, instructor and owner of Express Yourself Studios in Maplewood, New Jersey. Simone specializes in colorful, watercolor, and acrylic paintings as well as mixed media collages on canvas and canvas board.
Mrs. Anthony-Brown conducts art workshops for children as well as adults throughout New Jersey and was a guest instructor for a collage workshop at the Learning Annex in New York in the Fall of 2002. Simone creates works with acrylics, pastels and watercolors and has been experimenting and studying the genre of Folk Art because of its unique storytelling aspects. Her work can be found in private collections from art collectors across the U.S and Canada. Currently Simone is working on several commissioned pieces that are representative of her "Family Tree" series.
