What is your typical process for working with a new student?

Have an open ended conversation with the trainee. In order to find out what he/she is looking for. Trying to find out what his/her coach expects from them the following season. Develop drills that are specific to their position, challenge their soccer IQ by asking questions in order to develop their brain when playing the game.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am a Certified US Soccer Coach and a member of the United Soccer Coaches. I continue my development with courses through US Soccer training and United Soccer Coaches training.

How did you get started teaching?

My dad was a semi-pro coach. So it was always in my blood to continue to teach. My youngest daughter brought everything full circle when she wanted me to coach and train her. The rest is history.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with U5 through U15. From beginners to experienced. I welcome the challenge of helping players get better.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Look for a coach or trainer that is invested in your growth and development. Look for one that has passion in both actions and words.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Make sure that your trainer allows you to talk about your needs and not what he/she wants you to do without knowing what you want to accomplish.

Does this coach have the passion for the sport?
