How did you get started teaching?
Our initiative was founded through the need for bi-lingual CPR/AED and BFA certification for daycare providers in NYC as a partnering agency with the United Federation of Teachers. To date, our trainers have helped certify over 10,000 providers since January 2005.
What types of students have you worked with?
Our trainers have worked with students of all ages throughout many diverse neighborhoods.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
We were recently contacted by a former student who thanked us for the training and certification conducted for her and her team of daycare providers. She shared that a child under her care started choking and was unable to breathe. Her training quickly allowed her to help the child dislodge the obstruction and breathe normally again.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Experience is key. Always hire a trainer who understands the information he/she is relaying.
