Good dance lessons for my daughter. Instructors nice and professional. You save money by buying classes in advance or doing group lessons.

I loved the personal attention I got from my DPRdance Lessons. I spent time one on one with an instructor who developed our lesson plans for my personal needs! At one point I wanted to bring friends in for a group lesson, and they set the class up for me no problem!

    Frequently asked questions

When beginning work with a new student, I start with the age and dance experience of the student. After I have an idea of the students abilities, I talk with the student about their goals for dance- are they looking to dance seriously, or just for fun? After I have this information, I can then set up a lesson-plan for the students growth.

I have a BA in Musical Theatre, where I studied dance extensively, learning directly from many broadway veterans. I also am a graduate of Jacob's Pillow, one of the most intensive and prestigious dance programs in the country. In addition to my educational training, I have 10 years of practical experience in teaching, performing, and choregoraphing.

I do have a standard pricing system. The lesson prices below include the lesson, the studio space and the cost of the instructor:

    1 on 1 lesson rates:

    First Lesson with DPRdance: $75

1Single Solo Session with instructor- $90.00

5 Single Solo Sessions with instrcutor (1 hour)- $400 ($80/lesson)

10 Single Solo Sessions with instructor (1 hour)- $700 ($70/lesson)

    Small group rates (2-5 people):

    1 Small Group Session with instructor (1hour)- $150.00 ($75-$30 per/student)

    3 Small Group Sessions with instructor (1hour)- $400 ($67-$27 per/student)

I began teaching ten years ago in college. My ballet instructor owned her own dance studio, and invited me to come teach. While I quickly learned that teaching is hard work, and requires its own special talent, I quickly fell in love with it as well.

I have worked with students of all ages and abilities, from young students just starting out to college dancers and young professionals. In addition to this, I have also done some volunteering to assist in teaching small dance classes for special needs students who just want to have fun!

I have spent this past semester (spring 2018) as a permanent subsitute as a ballet instructor for a studio. One of my groups of students were young, and unenthusiastic about improving in dance, yet they still wanted to be competitive dancers. Over the course of the semester I have enjoyed seeing them makin incredible growth, and seeing their excitement as their performances in competition have improved!

I would advise a student to be clear with their instructor what their goals are, and then find an isntructor who is willing to help them meet them. Not every student wants to go into dance as a profession, and some goals are smaller than others.

Students should think about their goals, and then think about the work they will have to put in to meet them. Dance is very much a sport, and creating growth in dance is not easy, even if the final product is a dancer who moves effortlessly onstage.
