What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I would first speak with the parents and ask for their perspective of why tutoring is needed.
I would then want to meet with the student to build a rapport and run a preliminary assessment to gauge their individual needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Masters in Early Childhood Education and am certified to teach birth through grade 2. I am currently a first grade teacher.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Standard price for kindergarten is $30 an hour
Standard price for 1st grade in E.L.A. is $35 an hour
Standard price for 1st grade in Math is $40 an hour
2nd Grade:
E.L.A. - $40 per hour
Math - $ $45 per hour
How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching 20 years ago when I had My first child. I had not considered education as my path until she came along. I fell absolutely in love with her academic growth and how influential I was in that process. I found My Calling!
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students with disabilities.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Rapport is most important. Make sure the teacher is vested in knowing WHO you are and what you CAN do!

Think of one success in school? What happened? How was the teacher working with you?
