About this pro

I am half Artist and half Tony Robbins.  I love to paint and share my many painting techniques. I also love to build ideas with students and inspire them to follow their passion in Art.  Academic technique is simple.  Opening up the subconscious to realize your own vision is most important.

I like working with students of all ages.  Young minds and spirits has nothing to do with age.  I work with many schools from elementary to graduate school.  I am currently artist in residence at Harvard University.

I enjoy the energy of creating something that will make people feel really excited about life and gain confidence and passion in their vision.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I like to get to know the student's ideas and goals with their art.  I want to learn how they like to learn.  I like to observe the student's rhythm and flow into their confidence toward their goal.  We can make a plan that will show steps to the student's goals.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have worked as a scenic painter in the film industry for over 15 years.  Union scenics are trained to paint every style of painting and special effects.  My education is in Information Technology.

How did you get started teaching?

My aunt in New Orleans had a Pre-school.  I had so much fun teaching them everyone told me I was a natural.  I've been teaching painting with my special technique to all ages.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with all ages of students.  I have worked with pre-school, elementary, middle and high schools.  I have also worked with elders in nursing homes.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I entered a class of incarcerated teenagers that were saying how much they hate art.  In 45 minutes they were in deep concentration all working on their self-actualization portraits.

I believe my dedication and passion is contagious to everyone around.  Everyone wants to have passion for something. I help people find and enjoy their passions.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Research everything you can about that teacher.  Look at their work.  Ask yourself can this teacher coach me to get to where I want with my Art.  Maintain your purpose when looking for your teacher.  You want your teacher to give you what you need.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Research everything you can about that teacher.  Look at their work.  Ask the teacher any and every question you want.  A teacher can uplift or take away one's passion.  Get answers and feel out the energy of the teacher.
