Jerry is a full-time, certified, professional photographic artist with over 27 years of experience who has gained national recognition. His work has won awards for artistic excellence. He is also an active member of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) which has awarded him with the ANNE Award and the prestigious CPP Degree (Certified Professional Photographer). Of all the photographers in the state, he is one of approximately 40 photographers to earn this honor. He is also a member of the Professional Photographers Association of New Jersey (PPANJ) where he served as 3rd Vice President of the Northern region and sat on state council. He also holds a B.A. degree in Art, specializing in photography, and attends graduate courses towards his Master's degree. Jerry continues to study extensively with nationally renowned photographers to improve his craft. Jerry is now teaching the art and technique of Digital Photography to other photographers. Jerry is also a member of the Association of Photoshop Professionals and has received various ribbons for the excellence of his work.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
On the First Lesson, I like to review and find out the level of the student then proceeded to build a lesson plan for the following lessons. Giving some homework on what we would like to learn.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BA From Jersey City State College, Now New Jersey city university also did some grad work at the School of visual arts in NYC. Became a Certified Professional Photographer in 2000 and have studied with master photographers around the country. I am fully proficient in photoshop and Lightroom
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I like to do lessons in 2-hour block as I feel we can achieve more than in 1 Hour. But I am open to 1hour lesson after the first 2 hours.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching groups for my local photographer's group and then was asked by many to do some one on one and it just grew from there.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with high school aged all the way to some retired senior expanding on their hobby. Some of my students are now running their own photography businesses
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
We just ran an event to help local animal shelters raise money for food to care for abandoned dog and cats. We had people bring in their pets and we did a photo shoot and gave them a print of the portrait in return for a donation of food for the shelter.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find someone with a knowledge of photography, not just a digital camera or software. Someone that understands lighting, proper exposure and how to manipulate the camera to do what you are trying to achieve.
