About

Founded in 1964 by the internationally-acclaimed soprano Dorothy Maynor, Harlem School of the Arts serves over 5,000 students annually, providing world-class interdisciplinary training in music, dance, theater, and visual arts. Operating in New York and surrounding areas, the institution is known for its rigorous training that stimulates creativity, builds self-confidence, and enhances the lives of young people ages 2-18. With the support of the Herb Alpert Foundation, Harlem School of the Arts is embarking on a $9.5M renovation project to further their impact on the community. It's more than just a school, it's a hub for future creative thinkers and innovative leaders.
