About

In addition to being a professional flutist in NYC, playing on Broadway and in various ensembles in classical and experimental music, I have a private studio and am open to taking on more students, whether you are playing at an undergraduate level, or looking to add the flute to your growing family of instruments or just starting out and seeking a strong and stress free foundation in breath control, sound production and finger technique. I teach in the French flute school tradition, which emphasizes beautiful, colorful flute tone production.

I love getting to know my student's artistic motivations and goals and helping them develop the skills to realize them. My lessons are set up as dialogues, where we develop creative solutions together. In this way I am always looking to help my students develop their own voice and independence as a player.

My training is extensive, having worked with premiere flutists in the U.S. and France (Marina Piccinini, Vincent Lucas and Helen Campo), and taken masterclasses with Emmanuel Pahud, Robert Langevin, Denis Bluteau, Sophie Cherrier, and Julien Beaudiment. I am currently based in Paris, France, and offer lessons online.

Louna is a highly knowledgeable, adaptive, and attentive teacher. She works closely with her students to tailor their classes to their specific needs and to fill gaps in their knowledge that they might not even have known were there. Her training in both the French and American schools of flute give her a unique understanding of different techniques and approaches to offer her students. With Louna, you will find a teacher who is attentive to where you are in your development and who finds ingenious ways to work with you to overcome points that impede your progress. She will increase the complexity of your tasks at exactly the right moment. You will leave every class impatient to return home to practice and integrate what you have learned. I highly recommend her.
