Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Find out the athlete's weakness and work on that specific part of his/her game until it becomes a strength. I aim to demonstrate and execute several position specific drills in the designated timeframes in order to ensure improvement from whatever the starting point may be.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over trained over 200 clients for football, speed/conditioning, and basketball across NYC/NJ area. I am a NJ AAU high school Basketball Coach and NYC Varsity Football Coach. I am also a former division 1 athlete.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$150Central NJ and $200NYC. Group rates are negotiable.
How did you get started teaching?
After playing division 1 college sports I decided to give back by coaching youth sports ages 7 to 13 for several years, and then eventually high school football (11 years) and HS AAU basketball (5 years). I have coached several AAU Basketball teams in NJ and High School football in NYC. I have also worked as a personal trainer.
What types of students have you worked with?
All ages and all skill levels.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Winning AAU team basketball tournaments in NJ and MD and winning NYC high school playoff games as well as helping players make it to college. I enjoy teaching experienced players but I recently helped 2 players with zero experience make their college football team.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Most coaches will look to develop your talents but seek the coach that helps you eliminate weaknesses in your game.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Think about your goals and look at those who are in the positions that you aspire to be in and ask them what it takes to get there.
