Flute Lessons With Emma
About
Lessons are tailored to the needs and goals of the student. Whether this be preparing for an audition, learning some Disney tunes, exploring a new genre of music, or starting off for the very first time on flute, nothing is dismissed as insignificant. Here is an inside look at just some of the things covered in past lessons with my students:
*audition preparation for Central Jersey Regions Band
*method books and etudes to refine technique
*flute duets
*beginning improvisation
*body mapping to improve sound production
*sight-reading
*Suzuki method (I was certified in August 2018)
*extended techniques
At the core of the philiosophy of Flute Lessons with Emma is the idea that anyone can create music and everyone should get a chance to do so.

As I approach my eleventh year playing flute, my fifth year teaching private lessons, and my final semester at the John J. Cali School of Music, the benefits of musicking continue to amaze me. Engaging in music-making can foster creative expression, promote critical thinking, and encourage self-improvement. Taking up an instrument can be intimidating, but it can also be very rewarding.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
All new students are eligible for a discounted 30-minute consultation lesson. During this lesson, we will discuss what the student's goals are and engage in immediate music-making! If the student then wishes to continue with ongoing lessons, we will set-up a schedule that works best for both the teacher and the student.
