Reut Regev - Trombone, trumpet, piano, Hebrew
Born and raised in Israel, Trombonist Reut Regev has been living in the NYC area for over a decade, collaborating, recording and touring with some of the finest musicians in various fields, including Latin, Klezmer, Rock, Blues, Jazz, contemporary classical and improvised music. She has recorded and toured with Anthony Braxton, Butch Morris, Joe Bataan, Hazmat Modine and Frank London to name a few.
In her internationally acclaimed band R*time, Reut combines influences from her versatile experience, while keeping soul and creativity as the guiding light. Her music has been described as “Stoner Funk”, “Futuristic Tribalism” , “worldly informed” and as music that “straddles the heavy metal bebop divide.”

Alongside her music career, Reut has been teaching Hebrew privately, as well as in institutions such as Golda Och Academy, Central Synagogue, and various temples is NY and NJ. Reut specializes in both biblical and modern Hebrew, and her exprience spans over 20 years.
Igal Foni - drum set/drums teacher
Versatile drummer Igal Foni was born in Israel, spending his teens in Brazil, and his 20’s in Paris France, where he studies with the legendary Kenny Clark. Igal, who has been residing in the NYC area since 1996, draws his inspiration from the corners of the world. Throughout the years he worked extensively with Brazilian and African bands, studied Carnatic drumming, and played with many Jazz groups around Europe and the US. In NYC Igal has played and recorded with many great musicians, including Rasul Siddik, Avram Fefer, Michael Attias, Adam Lane, and more recently with Jean Paul Bourelly, Mark Peterson, Burton Greene and Jon Sass. His collaboration with Reut Regev spans over a decade long, and throughout the years they have worked intensively in Duo, Trio, Quartet and Quintet formats, playing original compositions and covers. Their debut recording together "This is R*time", as well as their sophomore release "exploring the vibe" on Enja records, have received widespread international acclaim, and their group R*time has been touring Europe and north America since the first release in 2009, playing Festivals such as the Berlin Jazz Festival, Belgrade Jazz Festival, Strasbourg, Halifax, and Rudolstadt folk festival among many others.
Please note:
Starting on December 2019 we will begin to offer accordion lessons by an expert accordionist. Accordion lessons will be limited to one day per week.
