What is your typical process for working with a new student?

Evaluate strengths and weaknesses.

Also the level of commitment and motivation we are about the training of minds as well as bodies.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have over 20 years playing and training experience.

Playing experience:

Plainfield High School Plainfield NJ 1992-1996

Union County College Cranford NJ 1998-2000

Richard Stockton University 2000- 2004

Coaching Experience:

James Solomon Russell Middle School 2009- 2013 Boys Head Coach

Brunswick County High Lawrenceville VA 2013- 2018 Assistant Girls Varsity Coach

Southside Sports Club: 2009-Present Founder travel basketball club started to increase playing experience through off season training and competition.

Current M(iddlesex U(nion and S( omerset Skyliners boys 14 U Development team head coach. 

Current Plainfield High School Boys Freshman Development Basketball team head coach and varsity assistant.

How did you get started teaching?

Basketball is life as any former player may say. As an Educator outside of Basketball I wanted to teach what I love my first coaching position coming in 2009.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have coached middleschool through highschool ages 10 - 19 years old. I also have experience training college players and recently Professional Players..

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

USA and Jr NBA Basketball has been holding tournaments nationwide emphasizing correct development.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Find a trainer who fits your personality. Do your due diligence to know what they are going to be able to teach you. And know what your weakness are before you meet your trainer

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Write down all the reasons why you play basketball. What’s your motivation for playing?

Write down all the reasons why you think you feel motivated one day, and unmotivated the next day. What types of distractions do you have around you? How can you avoid these distractions from getting in the way of your success?

Questions like these are how we train to create mentality stronger student-athletes.
