About this pro

I am the owner and lead dancer of the Dancing Designer, a creative production company. I am a professional dancer with over 12 years experience performing with major recording artist, for music videos, movies, TV shows + award shows. My unique process involves working from the students natural body movement while encompassing the performance elements of body movement + musicality. This organic process helps to solidify the student’s skill set, dance capabilities and confidence. I love teaching my clients the basic fundamentals and biology of their bodies. It’s amazing to see my students connect to their bodies and/or partners while having an “ah-ha” moment by discovering dance in a refreshing way. When working with couples I enjoy seeing them grow as they learn to trust each other along with the many levels of intimacy dance allows them to have.

I LOVE watching my clients discover themsleves through body movement + dance. Before we walk we dance because dance is natural to us and I enjoy walking that natural journey with my clients.

Byron and I had a fun and memorable dance experience with Tomisha who taught us our wedding reception entrance dance. She listened to my ideas, gave my husband and I confidence and a Workout! My husband who was not born a dancer, was able to complement me well in our dance to the African song “Iskaba.” What made Tomisha a great teacher was that she recorded our dance practice, so that we were able to rehearse the dance anywhere. In a total of 6 hours, we learned a fast, upbeat, swaggerish African dance. Her dance vision for us allowed us to entertain our guests on our wedding night of Sept 2, 2018. Tomisha is highly recommended!

Tonisha is a blast to work with! She really cares about your goals and focuses on getting you there as quickly and efficiently as possible. Since I'm a person who likes to master what I do, every time I miss a move or make a simple mistake we go over it together until its perfect. I'm so happy I decided to work with her!

Working with Tonisha was fun. Although she can be tough at times, she is very efficient and I really enjoyed her creative and natural approach to teaching salsa. I felt very comfortable and I was able to apply her technique to other forms of dance as well.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

When starting with a new customer I find out their level of experience if any, their goal + objectives, then we schedule our first lesson. I film the end of our lessons and send you the video so you can practice + review on your own to help you get further to your dancing goals.
