    I like that this allows an artist to work at their own pace. You wont be rushed because all of the work has to be fit into a single semester. It can feel a little slow if youve had a significant amount of art practice beforehand though and are used to moving very quickly.

    Without any doubt the Evolve program is the best art instruction course I have done - live or on-line. It will do exactly what it says and even if you are a beginner you will achieve the sort of results that you only dreamed about. Provided you put in the work even at the early stages you will be so happy with what you can do. The video instructions are clear and you always have the ability to contact a teacher in the program if you need more help. There are live sessions twice a week that both add to the online course materials and give you an opportunity to talk directly to a teacher. This is a brilliant supportive program and a fantastic community to join. I cant recommend it highly enough to anyone who wants to take their art to the next level.

    What I love most about this program is that its structured in a way that makes anyone be able to learn art and not just people that are naturally artistic. I also love the progression in the training. It starts out with simple things and apply those concepts to later and more complicated work. And by the end of it, which could only about be 2 years, Im confident that I will be a master at painting. I love this program and community it brings so much. The one down side it has is that I cant do it on a phone, but theyre working on that and even without that feature its completely worth it.

    Evolve Artist is by far the best art program Ive come across, both online and in-person. Evolve focuses on developing strong fundamentals, which is surprisingly rare, given how necessary they are to being solid artist. Skills are built step-by-step from very simple beginnings, which is exactly what I needed. Like all online courses, Evolve has videos to show you what to do, but the thing that makes all the difference in the world is the personalized feedback for every assignment. This constant course correction has helped me more than any class, teacher, video, or book ever has. The Evolve instructors are all friendly, helpful, effective, and professional artists themselves. Being the best artist I can be, as fast as I can, is vital to my future career, and with Evolve, Im convinced Im in very good hands.

    So happy to call myself an Evolve Artist student! I signed up with Evolve less than a year having zero skill but a lot of energy for learning. Evolve is a fantastic place to learn art for two main reasons: 1) its method -- which despite its simplicity gives you a solid understanding of form and color early on in the program and 2) its people -- founders, instructors, and students make up an enthusiastic and super supportive community, where I can find answers if stuck and always someone to cheer me on to pick up a brush and keep going.
    Becoming an artist doesnt happen overnight, but with the help of Evolve instructors, I can be sure that I consistently improve from painting to painting.

    The education and support. First, the education is very step by step. There are no leaps, but increments of learning which is refreshing. In two years you can become a professional level artist - he has the method and it leads you right there. Second is the support - from Kevin, Piper and the team of evolve people. The students are also really engaged and supportive, both on FB and in study groups online (through zoom like app). They set the bar for online art learning.

    Frequently asked questions

    When you are enrolled in the program your materials will be shipped to you the following day and you can immediately get started with your first assignment using just pencil and paper.  Once your materials arrive you will begin your first official assignment which is very simple, and upon completion, you will submit your work to be checked by our instructor team.  

    As you advance with each assignment a new part of the course becomes unlocked so you always have clarity with what your next step is.  The education is delivered gradually so you can see yourself making progress with each assignment. 

    We believe that when it comes to art the most important qualification is the results that the students are able to achieve, and we have a proven track record of:

    - Students earning the respect of their friends, family and art peers as having developed a serious artistic skillset

    I was a working professional illustrator and portrait artist for 30 years.  During this time I was self-taught and developed my own techniques.  

    After my career in illustration, I opened a school where I developed the curriculum I now teach.  The curriculum has been simplified and refined over a period of ten years to give anyone with the desire to learn a clear path to realize their full potential as an artist. 

    We have worked with all types of students from high school students, adults and retirees.  As long as the student has a desire to develop these skills we can show them the path to mastery.

    We have every type of students from complete beginners and hobbyists all the way to working professional painters, sculptors, and animators who choose to study with us. 

    Before you hire a teacher, consider where you would like to get to with your art.

    Even if it seems like your eventual goal is far from where you are now, ask to see proof that your instructor has been able to get other students to that goal.

    We see realism as the ultimate pathway to develop a solid foundation for students to take their skills in any direction they use and have a proven record of consistent student results achieving that goal. 

    We are open to any and all questions, however, we encourage students not to get too far ahead of themselves and instead to focus simply on learning and mastering the tasks at hand.

    This step-by-step approach keeps students on track and consistently moving forward to gain confidence and clarity with each assignment.  

    To address the bigger questions that come down the road we have live calls where students are encouraged to ask anything on their mind to stay informed with what is coming up as they continue on their journey to become accomplished artists.
