About
I have a private studio that can accommodate up to 12 people. I offer private, small group and paint and sip activities. I offer a wide range of techniques and mediums and will develop a personalized course to concentrate on each student’s ability. I was a technical illustrator for over 30 years and have experience in many mediums and techniques including paper making. I can host girl/boy scouts to earn a badge. I have held a variety of support group events. I am very flexible with my hours and can work around your schedule. My studio is welcome to all who want to explore their creativity. I host a Monthly Creativity Group where we explore many thought provoking art projects. I have a FB group called Suzanne Lippe Art. Please request becoming part of the group!
please join my FB page to see all the various art projects you can experience.
My biggest joy is seeing “that look” when a student looks at their own work and smile.
Teaching art is a joy to me. My pace is relaxed, my schedule is perfect and I maintain the student's pace. I try very hard to teach students about the world of art and try to cover as many areas of art as I can: artist studies, art genres, techniques and the elements of art. No two lessons are the same and I must confess, that some lessons work out better than others. We now offer cartooning and animation.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I start by asking the student to bring examples of any work they have done. I then try to focus on one element to begin the process. This allows me to determine the best teaching method. I formulate a lesson plan with a specific goal. We then work as a team. I try to explain every art theory or tricks of the trade used by professionals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BA in Fine Arts and Education. I also have a degree from New York School of Interior Design where I learned how to make architectural diagrams. I worked as a technical illustrator for 30 years. I often taught art lessons on the weekends. I have taught toddlers to the elderly. I ran a painting class in a nursing home for Alzheimer’s patients. We now offer cartooning and animation for ages 12 and up.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I have a different scale of charges depending on how many students and the length of the lesson. Groups of 5 or more children would be $10/each for one project and a snack. Adult private lessons are $50/45-60 minutes. Two adults at the same time would be $75/45-60 mins. Paint parties would vary. Tie Dye groups would also vary.
How did you get started teaching?
I have always loved sharing my knowledge and answering questions. I double majored in Fine Arts and Education. While I was an illustrator in the corporate world I’d often teach other professionals and I taught art at my synagogues and nursing homes.
What types of students have you worked with?
toddlers to aged. Children and adults with learning disabilities. Students looking to create a portfolio for gifted classes or colleges.
