Andy's Music Lessons
About
I’m a professional musician with years of teaching experience. I have a Bachelors degree in Jazz Performance from William Paterson University. I have studied privately with some of the best drummers in the world. My goal is to get you playing the quickest, easiest and funnest way possible! Let my years of hard work make it easy for you to learn how to make music!
I LOVE IT when a student "gets it". When a student learns something new, be it a new technique, concept/idea, that's what I enjoy the most.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
It depends on their previous experience. If they have no previous experience and are starting new, then I start from the beginning with basic technique and reading and go from there. If they have some experience already, then I try to figure out what would serve them best as well as listen to what they want to do.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelors degree in Jazz Performance from William Paterson University. I have also studied privately with some of the best drummers in the world.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$30 for a half hour/$60 for a half hour. If I come to you, and $5 to $10 for travel (depending on distance). If you come to me for lessons, it's a flat $30 for a half hour/$60 for a half hour.
How did you get started teaching?
I needed to pay the bills in college.
What types of students have you worked with?
Men, women and children aged 5 and above. I also have a little bit of experience working with kids with Autism and other mental/emotional "disabilities".
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I was recently working with a student who was having a hard time understanding a new concept that I thought might take more than one lesson to learn. But in the last 5 mnutes of the lesson, they got it!! They were so happy! As was I!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find someone you "click" with. Find a teacher that you really like and get along with. Someone who inspires you to play and practice. A teacher who you can't wait to see every week for a music lesson.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
In my opinion, students with a direction are some of the best to teach.
