About
We learn every day whether we consciously try or not. It pains me to see students unconfident about their abilities and bored about learning in general. The schooling system can, at times, be stifling. That is why I became a private tutor. I continue to learn and research to apply the best techniques and methods I can in my own life as well as for my students.
I earned a Bachelor's of Arts in English with minors in Education as a Social Science and Sport Management from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
Initially, I pursued my degree to become a teacher, but too often I saw the constraints of a classroom hindering real learning. For the past 6 years I have been a professional freelance tutor/academic consultant. I have 10+ years of tutoring overall.
Happiness from successfully learning or figuring out a problem is hardwired into our DNA. Because we must adapt to new situations every day, there is limitless potential to improve our lives and find joy in every situation.
There is no greater feeling than helping someone get over their learning hurdles. This is especially true when I see the growing confidence in my students.
My strengths have always been in mathematics which is why I expanded my abilities in English language arts. I am particularly skilled at helping students find their career paths through a university education and other higher learning options.
