About
I love helping students to make breakthroughs with their art, and get a better understanding of the things that they’ve been struggling with. Let’s face it. Painting and drawing can be tough. But when you have someone there to guide you, that’s experienced and has been down that road before you, it makes a huge difference!
I want to show you skills and techniques that I use as a full time artist today. Even though I’ve been painting with oils for 30 years, these are things that are useful at any level. You may be amazed at how much of a difference some simple methods can make to get your work look the way you want it to with so much less frustration. I have taught students from ages 7 to 65, and always do my best to see that they each get valuable knowledge from our lessons together that makes their creative experience better.
If you want to take it easy, we will go as slow as you want. If you want to speed things up, let me know and we can dive into more advanced ways of working (as long as you have certain important fundamentals down). Whether you want to draw or paint as a way to relax and relieve stress, or if you want to unlock the secrets of the universe and decode complex methods to up the technical level of your art, I would be happy to go on the journey with you!
I started doing art demoes and lessons in 2003 when my high school art teacher invited me to come back and show the Art Honor Society kids a thing or two. I’ve taught many students since then via online and in-person group and solo classes focussing on still life, the human figure, landscapes and various other subjects.
I graduated in 2000 with a BFA from Tyler School Of Art, part of Temple University, majoring in painting. I have displayed my work in several states across the U.S., and sold work domestically and internationally. My personal work focusses mainly on the figures and landscapes, and I have also done many types commissions, including portraits, pets, houses and live event paintings.

We can focus on whatever subject you prefer (still life, landscapes, people, etc.).

I have also taken the Painting Best Practices Workshop by George O'Hanlon, who is a leading painting best practices expert. I am a graduate of The Knowledge Broker Blueprint, a program created by Tony Robbins and Dean Graziosi that focusses on effective ways to teach and deliver value to students.

I kept hearing from people that I was a good teacher, before I was even a teacher! This happened with things that were as simple as showing someone how to use a laminator at my sign making job after art school.
