I am completing my doctorate in flute performance, and have 10+ years of experience teaching students of all ages. What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to access a student's familiarity with the instrument, then suggest a method book for them. I work with students on tone development, technique, and healthy playing positions, while incorporating music theory and history in an encouraging environment.
