About
I have a lifelong commitment to art in a variety of genres such as realistic charcoal drawings, cartoon sketches/ storyboards, watercolor painting of landscapes / still life, floral pastels, pen calligraphy, paper collage, sumi art, clay sculpture and very detailed lifelike portraits.
Currently working as a licensed art teacher using all mediums. Art can be done anywhere and anytime. Remote learning on Zoom or Google Meets works really well as I was teaching 6 hours a day for over a year duringthe pandemic. My students produced incredible masterpieces.
Graduate of Pratt and School of Visual Arts. Employed as an art director at major agencies creating print and television commercials for over twenty years.
I love helping to guide and develop a person's individual talent and creativity.
Art is an amazing craft. It brings harmony, enthusiasm and joy to life. I love the challenges mixed with the fun. Finding my individual style and personal expression for solutions creates inner peace.
Art is a gift and my greatest pleasure is inspiring others to have this dream. I want to give what I love and cherish about art to everyone around me.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I start slow as we get to know each other. Looking at various types of art gives my student an opportunity to reflect and express their visual interest or style. Practicing techniques, using many tools to experiment and play, helps to understand the feeling of how art moves and decide what your favorites are. I try to reinforce that art is about brainstorming and building ideas and cultivating open-mindedness. There are no right or wrong answers. I teach authentic, creativity with much support. All activities will lead to some beautifully crafted end product that the student will feel proud and want to save.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been involved with many areas of art my entire life. Philadelphia College of Art and Pratt Institute with a BFA. School of Visual Arts for graphic design. I worked as an art director on Madison Avenue ad agencies such as Ogilvy and Y&R for over twenty years. Then Masters Degree in Education to teach art in NYC. Love it all! I paint and draw every day.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching after decades of working as an art director in advertising creating storyboards for television commercials. I always played "school"as a child specifically "art school".
I love sharing my passion with other people of all ages and watch their enthusiasm as they discover art.
Teaching is giving to others what I am fortunate to have. It is a way to show my appreciation for this talent. With deep feelings, I always knew in my heart...I am a teacher. It is the reason I get up every morning at 5am. 😊
