Accent Reduction & Standard American Speaking Techniques

I teach Standard American speech to those who want to reduce their accent. I use the techniques that actors use! My goal is to make sure you are heard and understood when you are speaking.

I specialize in working with non-native Engligh speakers who want to improve their English, reduce their accents, and improve their public speaking skills. I have worked with students from a variety of countries, including students from Ukraine, Thailand, China, India, Sri Lanka, Korea, The Phillippines, Egypt, and Argentina. I also work with native English speakers who want to neutralize/standardize their accent.

When I was teaching my Tia (aunt) from Puerto Rico, I realized I can use my theatre training to help others speak clearly and be understood. There are specific techniques and exercises that American actors use that can directly translate to speaking in real life.

I have a BFA in Theatre from NYU (Stella Adler Studio). I have taken 4 years of classes specifically on voice and speech techniques. I was born and raised in the US, and my mother is from Puerto Rico, so I am a native English speaker and I speak Spanish conversationally.
