About

Learn Italian the Fun Way with Danilo!

Ciao! I'm Danilo, and I'm a native Italian from Rome, where I was born, raised, and have worked as an Italian teacher. With 15 years of experience teaching in high schools, colleges, and private language schools (including being certified in the State of Connecticut), I bring a wealth of knowledge and a genuine passion for teaching to every lesson. My expertise is backed by certifications from the University of Siena and the Dilit Language School of Rome, one of the most prestigious language schools in Europe! My classroom is a fun, interactive space where you'll quickly gain confidence. We'll use the Communicative Approach with tons of engaging activities like reading exciting texts, lively listening exercises, creative role-plays, and even some grammar games—all designed to get you speaking naturally and fluently!

Beyond the Textbook: My Approach

If you believe the only way to learn Italian is through endless grammar drills, I might not be the tutor for you! My focus is on communication and real-world context. Grammar is important, of course, but we'll always explore it naturally through conversations and passages we're already enjoying. When I'm not teaching, you can find me indulging my other great passions: soccer and music—which, naturally, are fantastic ways to dive deeper into Italian culture! I'd love to show you how effective and enjoyable my method is, so I offer two 1-hour free trial lessons. Let's start your Italian adventure!

A presto!

Danilo

    Frequently asked questions

I like to ask my students why they want to learn Italian and if they have any specific goals or skills they need to improve. This helps me tailor my lessons to their needs. In fact, to better understand my students' levels and customize the classes accordingly, I offer the first two classes for free.

In 2005, at the Dance and Music Academy in Mongolia, I taught students who were also studying Italian Opera to become professional singers.
Many professionals seek to study or improve their Italian because they have a passion for the language and enjoy traveling in Italy. I also have a significant number of students who wish to learn Italian because their ancestors were Italians. Additionally, I love working with students who need assistance in preparing for Italian language tests.
My 6-year-old son is already fluent in Italian, showcasing his impressive linguistic skills, even while we reside in New Haven, CT.
Regardless of your future teacher's method, you can be assured that grammar will be taught within the context of communicative activities. Additionally, you can expect that there will be plenty of listening activities included in their syllabus.
