I work with a cycling technique that aids the intuition to grow the painting by simple choices that create complex and professional outcomes. Once the basic understanding of primary and secondary colors are understood then glazing and underpainting, the classical method, allowes ANY picture to be conceived and executed depending on the ability to draw and practice.
I LOVE to help others gain confidence in painting by first knowing ALL that is possible with acrylic paints,( the same pigments as oil but a water medium allowing for immediate drying and over painting and glazing) without the long drying time, complex processes, and smell of oil paint. Also since I have been painting for 50yrs. and see that art schools mostly teach the direct method of mixing color Off the canvas and then apply it which seriously limits the possibilities of the medium, and students are not able to achieve the luminious effects of light and space very easily ( like classical painting ).
