About this pro

I make bold colorful photos of people and have worked with a broad variety of subject matter for over 20 years. I have a formal photo education from RIT where I graduated in 1990, have photographed everything from tabletop food, racecars and industrial machines to models and important people who get paid a lot. My work has been used in print and digital media extensively the past 20 years, I have won numerous awards and competitions.

I'd love to share my experiences and techniques to make others better image makers.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

First assessment of where a student should be would be a portfolio review. This would be either a formal print book, instagram or other image feeds and an interview process to see what the individuals goals would be. A group session would be preferable and could go as far as formal classroom sessions.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a Bachelor's degree in Photography from RIT and have worked in the field since 1993.

Over 20+ years of shooting I have worked with a broad range of subject matter in all sorts of situations.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

No, I make this stuff up as I go along. Give me an idea of what you want to accomplish and we can work out the details.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Think about what you want to get out of the sessions, the more information you give me the better we can zero in on your strengths and needs.

There are several avenues we can go down for your instruction and costs are proportional. Most people can benefit greatly from remote instruction with assignments and critique but I'm more than happy to take you to a rental studio with a load of equipment and a model for hands on instruction.
