Her studies include being a Marcel Moyse protogie. He was considered the best flute teacher in the world. She also studied at the Paris Conservatory, James Pellerite at Indiana University, Julius Baker (NY) and Jean-Pierre Rampal. Beverly also has studied teaching young and budding flutusts with Toshio Takahashi, head of the Suzuki Flute School.
Students of Beverly Pugh have gone on to prestigious music schools and orchestral positions. Although her teachers' background is like a "who's who" in world flute teachers, she enjoys a variety of students of all levels. She is great working with younger students as well as college entry level students and adults of all levels.
Ms. Pugh runs a flute ensemble in Southern NJ and is always looking for more interested performers to join the group!
I live to work with students if all ages and performance levels. I teach flute, piccolo and panpipes. It's great to help students learn new musical techniques and see their faces light up with songs they can play!
I also love to play in flute ensemble with my other flutist friends. Life is a constant learning existence.
I love to perform with the Bay-Atlantic Symphony, solo recitals with pianist Nicholas Mastripolito and perform in my church choir and on flute in my church.
