About
Kellie is a New York City based dance/fitness instructor and performer specialized in dancing, singing, and acting. Kellie earned her B.A. in Dance, as well as a B.A. in Psychology, at Marymount Manhattan College in New York City. Growing up she trained pre-professionally at Mid Maryland Performing Arts Center in Frederick, Maryland for 15 years and was a member of their performance company for 8 years. Here she trained in styles including ballet, modern, jazz, tap, musical theater, hip-hop, contemporary, and pointe. Kellie took part performing in various recitals, musicals, and competitions, as well as attending intensives around the U.S. including Broadway Theater Project I and II, Point Park International Summer Dance, and The Broadway Experience. Kellie has continued to train at dance schools across Manhattan including Broadway Dance Center, Peridance Capezio Center, Steps on Broadway, and Ballet Academy East.
Kellie has performed all over the world; some of her most notable performances include character dancing on Disney Cruise Line, an original Broadway choreography production of West Side Story, amusement park character roles and a number of concert dance shows and children's theater productions in NYC.
Kellie currently teaches dance fitness, barre, cardio toning, and stretch classes in New York at Dancebody and BodMod Fitness. She has taught movement focused classes to persons ranging in age from 3 to 93. She believes that dance and movement are essential to all and has dedicated her time and ability to spreading the joy they bring.
Dance and movement are so important for quality of life. Whether you're training in technique or simply looking for a fun release of energy. I believe the movement holds the capacity to produce a multitude of benefits for all bodies.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First off, every lesson begins with a simple easy to follow warm that's based off the students initial ability, age, and technique. From there, I will adjust my speed of teaching and working on material to see where the student best fits. Each individual session is focused on the student's needs and abilities and once those are recognized we will begin to cultivate and develop them together.
