My name is Jonathan “Face” Burke. I am an audio engineer/producer with a bachelor’s degree in audio engineering/music business from Five Towns College. My engineering career has spanned a 20 plus year period, where I have worked with many of the world's greatest artists, musicians, and producers in Hip-Hop, R&B, and Reggae. I can teach you how to mix and master demos or records and produce sounds to compliment a wide range of projects. I focus on the technical expertise needed to make a great record using the latest digital audio workstation software that includes: Ableton Live, Apple Logic, Fruity Lopps, Pro tools, and Reason

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I prefer to listen to student and work with them to learn about their expectations and immediate/short-term goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
After my formal education I continue to learn and create new ways to utilize the software successfully by dedicating time every day to my own practice.

How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching in a room with colleagues trading ideas and sharing tips/tricks.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students of all experience levels and ages.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
We recently launched our digital studio at a club in the West Village. It was awesome to share my sound and my skills live!!!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I think it's important to work with someone who is knowledgeable and who is patient and is willing to listen to what the student needs and to help the student achieve their goals.
