Jerry Verpent Trumpet Lessons
About
Jerry is a graduate of Peabody Conservatory of Music, where he received his Bachelor's degree in trumpet performance. He also attended the Juilliard School in New York for graduate studies, where he studied trumpet with the virtuoso trumpet player and world-renowned Gerard Schwarz. He has also studied trumpet with Raymond Mase of the New York City Ballet Orchestra, Vincent Penzarella of the New York Philharmonic, and Donald Tison of the Baltimore Symphony.
He has performed with the Spoleto Festival Orchestra in the U.S and Italy, the American Institute Orchestra in Graz Austria, the New York String and Wind Ensemble under Alexander Schneider, the Washington Chamber Players, the Maryland Symphony, and the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra.
He teaches trumpet privately in New York City and performs throughout New York City as a freelance trumpet player.
Jerry's approach to teaching trumpet focuses on building a strong foundation of good sound production and technique. He has a holistic approach to teaching, instilling in his students the fundamentals of music theory, ear training, and listening.
