Hello Everybody,
My name is Osman Fider Arslan. I am a filmmaker and photographer. I've studied Journalism. After working as a photojournalist for a while I continued my education in School of Visual Arts here in New York. In SVA I studied filmmaking focusing on directing and cinematography. I am working on my own films at the moment and working as a commercial and narrative Director of Photography, video producer, editor and colorist. I have high end filmmaking equipment. Camera Package, lights, light modifiers, Editing system with color grading, noise reduction tools.
This is not a work for me. This is the way I keep myself alive. This is the way to express myself. I started to learn filmmaking and photography to tell the things I was mad about. The things I have found wrong in this world. Later on I've evolved to tell what I love. Instead of living my life as a reaction, I've started to live my life as an action. I live my life the way I'd like. I use filmmaking and photography as tools to help me to tell what I love and how I see the existance.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I am a father of three little girls. Me and my wife homeschool two of our daughters. We have chosen homeschooling because we believe that every child has unique interests and unique way of learning. We don't teach every student the same way. We tailor our education based on the student's level and learning abilities. I adapt myself to the way necessary to teach that student. I myself have been an excellent student every school I have been. All of the schools I have been a student were top class schools. Personally I know how to learn. I know what is necessary to ask to learn a subject. Therefore I know what needs to be given to the student. I don't just follow a textbook, but I use my imagination to have the student inloved in that learning process. To me learning can be an exciting journey if only there is something to excite me and keep me interested. I discover the things make the student interested in my class. Then I use that as a motivating dream which me and the student share together.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied Journalism and worked as a photojournalist in the past. I also Studied fimmaking in School of Visual Arts in NYC.

I don't have a standart pricing system for teaching. I try hard to tailor a course to fit to an individual's budget
How did you get started teaching?
I started by teaching myself after film school. Then I continued teaching by homeschooling my kids and some other homeschoolers.
What types of students have you worked with?
I can work with anybody. I love working with older people as well as kids. I enjoy interacting with people from any age group.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
You shold find a teacher who is able and willing to come to your way of learning and your skill level.
