I enjoy both plein air painting and studio work but also relish the chance to try a new medium or subject. Currently, I love painting in oils directly from nature, but I have often used photographs as reference, especially doing illustration work.

There is nothing like self-expression, and painting is the most enjoyable way to do it. I combine deep reflection and excitement about the subject, be it still life or a beautiful scene, and then engage with it using paint. It's like a dance or a poem or a song, in visual terms; I play with colors, and something new is born.
