What is your typical process for working with a new student?

My process is in three steps. First, I like to talk to the parents to discuss any questions or concerns they may have about their child. Second, I like to look over any recent school reports that a parent may have on their child. Lastly, I like to my first lesson getting to know my student including their favorite subject, least favorite subject, favorite hobby, favorite sport team, favorite book, favorite toy, ect...

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Rider University, Lawrenceville, NJ, Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and Psychology, May 2007

Hunter College, New York, NY, Masters of Science Education (Literacy Birth-Grade 6), December 2010

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

My prices are negotiable. I usually charge $200 per hour but I'm willing to negotiate that price.

How did you get started teaching?

I got started teaching in my undergraduate school at Rider University in NJ. I also did my student teaching in first grade there. Afterwards, I came back to Manhattan where I started subbing at some public schools in my area that include P.S.6 and P.S. 158. Once I graduated from my Master's Program at Hunter College, I started working as a SETSS Teacher (Special Education Teacher Support Services) at various schools in the city ranging from public, catholic and private in areas that include Harlem as well as the Bronx.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with a complete range of students with various learning disabilities.
