What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I interview the student and customize a plan based on their goals, then strenghs and weakness.
New students can have a wide range of experience and we
are results and goal based program and metrics.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have coached and mentored many students in Golf and Basketball. I owned a small golf store and indoor driving range that provided training and lessons to many students. We had contracts with Tribal and Government entities in New Mexico.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Yes, Golf and Basketball $30 for 30 min lessons and childrens lessons are also lowered up to and including Free based financial capabilities.
I also take trade or barter to ease the financial burden for families.
How did you get started teaching?
I started coaching at a young age. I coach high school , mid school and community center kids. After picking up golf I opened in indoor driving range providing lessons to kids and golfers of all ages.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students of all ages. From Professional to amatuers.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I have a lesson with a 68 year old man that has been playing with his son and friends. He was frustrated during the golf outings. After 1 chipping lesson he was able to improve his confidence and improve his scoring ablilty. He signed up for a series of lessons and is now excited to play again.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Do expect miracles improvement comes with technique and practice. Find some one who cares about YOU and wants to help you achived YOUR goals.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are they trying to accomplish.
Do they want to become a pro? compete with friends on the weekend. Chip better, driver better or simply have fun shoting bogie golf.
Ask them how they will help you acheive your goals.
