About
I started playing the guitar at the age of 15. I knew the second I picked it up what I would do with my life and I jumped right in. Starting out I just couldn't get enough Heavy Metal. By the time I was 17, I was playing larger rock clubs and opening for national acts. In my 20's I studied music at William Paterson College, and at 25 started teaching guitar full time. I couldn't even count how many lessons I've given since then. Teaching has been great for me. Not only do I enjoy it, but it's provided me the stability to continue following my musical inspiration. Not having to take a gig to pay the bills has allowed me to take chances musically that I wouldn't have been able to take otherwise.
As I've gotten older, my musical tastes have evolved. I've played in metal bands, hardcore bands, country bands, rock bands, folk rock/acoustic bands, hip hop/rap bands, alt. country, jam bands, blues... you name it. I've been lucky enough to tour the country with The Vans Warped Tour and Sprite Liquid Remix Tour. I've played such legendary venues as CBGB's, The Bitter End, The Pipeline, and The Roseland Ballroom and have opened for acts ranging from Herman's Hermits to NY Hardcore legends Agnostic Front to Cypress Hill and countless others. As an instructor, I bring my varied experiences, an insatiable appetite to continue learning myself, as well as a solid background in music theory and history.
Music is my life and I hope that you enjoy playing the guitar or bass as much as I do!
