About
My main goal in teaching is for you to find your voice and possibilities in the arts!
I was born and raised in Germany, where I was professionally trained in the Art and Grafik Design and where I started my first small private art school for kids and adults. Since moving to the United States in 1994, I am working as a full time artist and am teaching ever since from my private studio here in ABQ, at the Albuquerque Academy as well online!
I see my student's artistic needs first! We will work together in reaching your artistic expression, wherever it will lead you. We will sit down together to find out what you want to accomplish. No matter if you are a beginner, intermediate or proficient painter/artist. No matter if you want to start your journey as a fulfilling hobby, or if you are seeking new inspiration, guidance or different approaches for your artistic career.
Some of my younger students are studying in the art field at colleges now, while others are even pursuing a career in the arts, showing their work in shows and galleries, some started teaching themselves.
I invite you to your own journey with me wherever it might bring you! ❤️

I enjoy teaching because I can see progress and accomplishment in my students. It makes me happy to being part of their creative journey.
I enjoy making my own art, it’s my way of letting go of everything, finding pure fulfillment in what I’m doing-it makes everything clearer in life!
Teaching Art for me is far more than a passion or profession, especially when I see children and adults overcome Art un-realted insecurities and obstacles, mentally as well as physically, when they learn so much more about themselves while drawing and painting!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First I will ask my students what they want to achieve during their lessons. I’ll evaluate their skill set, and work with them, putting a very individual teaching plan together to improve their skills and have fun...
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Back in Germany, i started as a teenager, getting private lessons with artists, then later studied Art and Grafik Design at a Collage with an emphasis on illustration and life drawing. I was running several art teaching studios in the last 30 years, teaching workshops and exhibited my work in Europe and the US and am now represented by major Galleries in California, Oregon and Arizona.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
You can check out my regular pricing chart on my website, here in NM, which is my home and workplace at the time, I try to give back to my community in adjusting my $. I am currently charging NM students $55/1-1/2 hr (lesson for adults 21 +) and 45/1-1/2 hr lesson for young people, age 8-20. When you sign up for 10 lessons, your last lesson is free.
How did you get started teaching?
I enjoy working with people and it was always a wish of mine to run an art school of my own. I opened my first little art school for children in 1992 and later added adult lessons in the evenings. I had been teaching ever since.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with children, age 6 and up, teenagers and adults.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would advice you to check out your teacher's credentials and experience first and then their pricing. In the longer run, you could actually safe money;-)
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
If you are an intermediate/accomplished artist, you will most likely know what you'll need. If you are a beginning/intermediate students I would rather like them to think about their goals, then together we will then talk about what they need to do to accomplish that.
