I am a mixed media painter, using acrylic, charcoal, art crayons, oil stick, spray paint, and collage. I love talking about painting. I love to inspire others to find themselves through painting by sharing my passion and experiences.
I love painting. I enjoy working in my studio and I enjoy the challenges brought forth by painting. I love to display my work in gallery settings. I show my work around at various galleries in Albuquerque and also my work is represented by David Anthony Fine Art in Taos, NM.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I want to get to know the student and what their expectations are for the class, and then I can better assist the student to reach their goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Bachelor of Fine Art degree '95 from Oklahoma State University. My wife and I owned an art school in Plattsburgh, NY where we taught both children and adults.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$50 per lesson. I'm an open book, I'll share my knowledge and experiences with the student.
How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching at the Johnson Atelier Fine Art Center in 1993 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have taught children, teenagers and adults.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I love showing my work in galleries and enjoy talking about my work, and painting in general with people who are interested in art.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find a painter who is a working artist. Find a painter whose work you respond to. Find someone who is patient and compassionate.
