What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First thing we do is run the player through, running, throwing, fielding, to see what they know and what they do not. And then we go through strengthening any weakness in their game.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been coaching baseball since 1999. I currently have players playing college baseball throughout the country.
How did you get started teaching?
I got my start coaching Union City American Legion Baseball in 1999 under the tutelage of coaches that coached me.
What types of students have you worked with?
I currently work with a 11 year old softball phenom and a 11 year old baseball phenom out of Rio Rancho, NM.
I work with young children all the way up to college players.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Seeing my 11 year old player be selected for team outside of New Mexico.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure the coach uses video to break your motion down.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should have an idea of where they would like to improve their game. Whether it is offense or defense.
