Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Self capabilities is priority. I believe knowing your strengths and weaknesses helps a lot on what we need to work together. It takes baby steps to learn how to how to throw a strike or swinging the bat to hit the ball. Fundamentals have changed the game through out the years because every trainer don't teach the same.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I letter 3.5 years in Varsity at San Pedro High School. I also played 4 years in college at Western Nevada College and Cal State San Bernardino. I was drafted as a free Agent for the Atlanta Braves in 2011. I Pitched 6 years in the Minor Leagues.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $35 per lesson or $250 for a month 8 total sessions.
How did you get started teaching?
When the pandemic started my Minor league team was sent home. I was out of job and started training baseball players from recreational Adult Sunday league teams. I also help coach the Rawling Tigers 10 u team for a short period time.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with 10u and high school Athletes from Centennial High school and Cimmaron high.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am very fond of catch play and throwing batting practice. Sometimes I do live sessions with the pitcher I train to invite batters.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I'd pay attention to the baseballs that the trainer is training with. If the baseball look old and rugged that's an automatic red flag. New baseballs or semi new balls should be used often.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Know your resources such as know the right fit for a bat, glove, cleats equipment etc. Knowing the right fit you can out perform those that don't.
