About

Atelier De Vince's classes are taught in Las Vegas, unless it is a three day workshop. I enjoy teaching and am interested in helping my students create and express themselves through the medium they like best. As a child, I discovered my goal was to be an artist, and since then, my life has revolved around art. Later, I was invited to teach underprivileged children in Brazil and South Africa. (Please see a list of my exhibits on my website: http//www.julinya.com.

While I had exhibits and other art events worldwide, I also took more courses and spent months visiting art museums, learning about other incredible artists. Back in California, I was commissioned to reproduce many of these incredible museum artworks. This led me to be hired as a director of studios by a company in the greater Los Angeles area that owns many art schools, some of which were also in other countries. I worked for them for almost 15 years. All that has given me a load of information and experience, and in 2005, I opened my art school. Now, I still direct and supervise different art classes that my graduated students teach, plus give one a year 3-day workshops.

I took art lessons from Julinia several years ago! I painted paintings that nobody can believe I did including me! She is a one and only! I have often thought of moving to Nevada just to be near her! Highly recommend her! Sincerely Anne Semler

Julinya DeVince is a remarkable fine art painting instructor in Las Vegas, Nevada. She taught me oil painting both in in-person classes and via Zoom during COVID. Her skill, knowledge and attention to her pupils sets her apart as a teacher. She truly cares about her students and their work. I strongly recommend her to anyone seeking to learn or refine their oil painting skills.

    Frequently asked questions

I pay attention to what they are looking for, what kind of art classes they took before, and what they are looking for. That way, I can suggest the best course for them. I was trained to teach small children, teens, and adults in any drawing or painting medium.
I started taking private art classes when I was a child; the art classes in college were too easy for me, but I needed a degree. Again I continued taking classes outside the regular curriculum from great artists of the time in different places of the world. When I could finally afford, I stayed longer in Paris, and learned from great professors from Sorbonne,
I advise once-a-week classes, for one to 3 hours. Tuition does include supplies and must be paid on the first day of class. Students who must cancel a class will have a chance to make up, as per an agreement they signed at the start. I am very flexible and expect the students to be the same. The tuition can be paid by cash, check, Venmo, Zelle, or CashAp, or if you prefer another method, let me know. However, it must be paid before the day of the class.
When I was a teenager, I taught underprivileged children in Brazil, and in 1994, I was appointed to teach children in South Africa and Mozambique. I started teaching in California when I answered an ad in Los Angeles and was hired by the largest school in the nation; then, they owned 23 schools in the US and three abroad. The instructors started teaching small children and gradually moved on to adults. I worked for them for almost 15 years. Within the first year, I was transferred to their elite studios as a director in Pacific Palisades, and two years after, I opened another one in Westlake Village, both in California. 2008, with the economy going down, they lost many students and cut our salaries. I decided I could do better if I left the company and opened my school. Showly after I put together my De Vince Art Studio in two locations, at the WAV, in Ventura, and at Westlake Village, they worked fine for many years. In 2014, we moved moved to Las Vegas, NV, and I mainly did Workshops until the Pandemic.
I was trained to teach small children, teens, and adults, there I learned to teach everyone including Autistic students. I also taught people with Neuro or Psychological problems at a place where they choose to stay for a period of time until they are well enough to go back to living a normal life.
Someone needing art classes should try to be as specific as possible because the teacher may or may not be able to help them. For instance, I learned all different kinds of painting mediums and have years of experience in most areas, but there are other mediums that I prefer not to teach, so new students should try to explain what they like The student may not know the correct terms to use, but the teacher will understand what they mean. For instance, if someone says, "Can you teach me how to paint like the Chinese, with ink? I will answer that I have worked with rice paper and done Sumie paintings, but I am not the best at teaching them."
Students need to find out how the teacher likes to handle payments. Check if it is right to take breaks if needed and how canceling paid classes works. If they want to learn one technique, ask how long it takes to master it. A good idea is to determine beforehand how much they will spend on supplies to start if that is a problem.
