Atelier De Vince

About

Atelier De Vince's classes are held now in my private studio, where I paint and teach students who are serious about learning fine art.

I enjoy teaching and am interested in helping my students get ahead and able to express themselves through the medium they like best.

When I was nine years old, I discovered my goal in life was to be an artist, and since then, my life has revolved around art. (There is a list of some of my exhibits on my website, julinya.com.) While I had these events worldwide, I visited many art museums several times because I wanted to learn from the source; I admire many famous master painters and have been commissioned to reproduce a few of their works.

When I was a teenager, I taught underprivileged children in Brazil, and in 1994, I was appointed to teach children in South Africa and Mozambique.

I took art lessons from Julinia several years ago! I painted paintings that nobody can believe I did including me! She is a one and only! I have often thought of moving to Nevada just to be near her! Highly recommend her! Sincerely Anne Semler

Julinya DeVince is a remarkable fine art painting instructor in Las Vegas, Nevada. She taught me oil painting both in in-person classes and via Zoom during COVID. Her skill, knowledge and attention to her pupils sets her apart as a teacher. She truly cares about her students and their work. I strongly recommend her to anyone seeking to learn or refine their oil painting skills.

    Frequently asked questions

I pay attention to what they are looking for, what kind of art classes they took before, and what kind they are interested in taking now. That way, I go straight to their interests. I was trained to teach small children, teens, and adults in any drawing or painting medium. I can happily talk to them. Moreover, I like to see their work before deciding if they are coming to the right place; I suggest that they show me their work online and also come in for a visit during a class day and meet me before they make a decision.
I started taking private art classes when I was a child; the art classes in college were too easy for me, but I needed a degree. Again I continued taking classes outside the regular curriculum from great artists of the time in different places of the world. When I could finally afford, I stayed longer in Paris, France. There at Sorbonne, I specialized in my favorite oil medium.
Classes will not include more than three students. The tuition consists of 12 hours of classes for the month, divided into 3 or 4 classes once a week with a 15-minute break. I advise once-a-week classes, which work best in my teaching system. Tuition does not include supplies and must be paid on the first day of class. Students who must cancel a class will have a chance to make up, as per an agreement they signed at the start. I am very flexible and expect the students to be the same. The $1400.00 tuition can be paid by cash, check, Zelle, or CashAp, or if you prefer another method, let me know. However, it must be paid before class.
When I was a teenager, I taught underprivileged children in Brazil, and in 1994, I was appointed to teach children in South Africa and Mozambique. Shortly after, I started teaching in California, I answered an ad in Los Angeles, and was hired by the largest school in the nation; then they owned 23 schools in US, and three abroad. The instructors started teaching small children and gradually moved on to adults. I worked for them for almost 15 years. Within the first year, I was transferred to their elite studios as a director, in Pacific Palisades, and two years after opened another one in Westlake Village both in California. 2008, with the economy going down, they lost many students and cut our salaries. I decided I could do better if I left the company and opened my school. Showly after I put together my De Vince Art Studio in two locations, at the WAV, in Ventura, and at Westlake Village, they worked fine for many years. In 2014, we purchased a motorhome and started traveling more, I eventually closed my studios in California, and we moved to Henderson, and finally Las Vegas, NV. From then on, I was mainly doing Workshops, and teaching teenagers until the Pandemic. Now, I only teach small groups in my private Studio.
I was trained to teach small children, teens, and adults, there I learned to teach everyone including Autistic students. I also taught people with Neuro or Psychological problems at a place where they choose to stay for a period of time until they are well enough to go back to living a normal life.
Someone needing art classes should try to be as specific as possible because the teacher may or may not be able to help them. For instance, I learned all different kinds of painting mediums and have years of experience in most areas, and in other areas, I learned, used different mediums, and created paintings using them, but I prefer oil paintings and prefer to teach these. The student may not know the correct terms to use, but the teacher will understand what they mean. For instance, if someone says, "Can you teach me how to paint like the Chinese, with ink? I will answer I have worked with rice paper and done Sumie paintings, but I am not the best at teaching it."
Students need to find out how the teacher likes to handle payments. Check if it is right to take breaks if needed and how canceling paid classes works. If they want to learn one technique, ask how long it takes to master it. A good idea is to determine beforehand how much they will spend on supplies to start if that is a problem.
