About this pro

I am a very patient teacher and I am interested in helping students achieve what they want to paint. I'm a good listener and have a lot of experience encouraging and supporting other artists in getting their work accomplished.

I am primarily known as a landscape painter, but I also do figurative work.

I have a studio in my home in Downtown Las Vegas, which is my preferred place to teach.

I am crazy for the brush! I love to paint...anything, and I enjoy challenging myself with subjects outside my comfort zone...problems to be solved! Painting is all I think about...It is my happy place.

I have been painting for over 30 years, achieved a Master's Degree and have enjoyed a bit of celebrity as an artist on a statewide level here in Nevada.

My work is observational and mostly representational.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I like to start with an assessment of drawing skills, looking through sketchbooks and talking about the student's comfort level with composition, value, color and handling paint. Then we establish some goals for our sessions, with an achievable end in mind.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a Master's Degree in painting and a B.A. in Creative Writing. I have been the founder and Executive Director of the Goldwell Open Air Museum and Artist Residency since 2000.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

$25 an hour.
