I am very astute at assessing where a student is at and finding the next thing that would benefit the development of their skills and talent. I am fluent in most fine art media as well as the online world of art. You benefit from my experience whether you are a young or old artist. I am kind.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Firstly, I emphasize courage and keep overwhelm as low as possible. My philosophy is if you succeed in smaller projects the bigger projects are a piece of cake. So I encourage a brave brush!
Assess past work and knowledge of media in general, what the goals are of the student.
Review the students painting supplies and understanding of what can be achieved
Describe characteristics of Media chosen and what qualities are important about that media and other media.
Make sure goals are small and tangible and that progress is clearly visible and barriers disappear.
Brush skills are important in various media and other considerations are explored as the imagination grows
