Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I first like to evaluate what sort of skill level my student is at. Then, we can start by focusing on the subject, or story my student is wanting to showcase and how we can achieve their goals. Next is to find what equipment the student will need, or how to use the equipment they have effectively and efficiently. My main focus is to let my students grow within themselves, and help them find their creative soul. I have a very patient, and descriptive teaching style that leaves no question unanswered.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 15 years of experience as a professional, with hundreds of published images to showcase. I have experience with digital and film photography equipment of all types.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My teaching is set by an hourly, or half-hourly rate. I also have options for a daily rate, and on site lesson plans.
How did you get started teaching?
I started with teaching my close friends, and my passion grew to teach anyone passionate about learning.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with students of all types, from beginner who has never picked up a camera, to students that have a good base of knowledge who just want to know how to use their new camera, and to aspiring artists who are looking for a new way to express themselves.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
As a student, I would look for someone who is passionate about the art, and can be a good leader to help me with whatever I may need help with.
