Lessons are tailored to each individual player to progress as quickly or slowly as needed, with noticeable results in one-to-two lessons time.

I also focus on the mental and emotional aspects of the game so that they can use these skills on and off of the field to become better athletes and happier, more productive individuals.

I enjoy working with all different types of players ranging from brand new up to advanced and in all aspects of the game. I love watching how quickly my player's progress helps them gain confidence and motivates them to become better which in turn, helps them have more fun and gain better focus.

    The progress my daughter has made in such a short period of time is unbelievable. Everybody always told her what she was doing incorrectly but nobody would show her how to fix it until we met Shawna! It has given my daughter a level of confidence that I have never seen before.

    Coach Shawna takes the time to go over the mental aspect of the game just as much as she focuses on the physical aspect. She understands that emotions can play a big part of the game and I believe this has helped our daughter grow in the game of softball as well as with her life outside of softball. Distractions outside of the game/practice used to be an issue but she is now one of the most focused kids on the team. Our daughter pushes herself but because she believes Coach Shawna knows her stuff and she has seen the results herself.

    I like to get to know my new players and make our time together fun and active so that they enjoy their sport, are never bored and to help build a relationship of trust between us to develop them as a confident, mentally disciplined and successfull athlete on and off of the field.

    I received 6+ years of my own weekly private instruction from age 9 until high school. I currently play slow-pitch softball weekly and continue to pitch in my late 30s. Growing up, I played on fast pitch softball tournament leagues for nine years for the Reno Lightning and Carson Comets.  While playing for the Carson Comets 16 & under tournament league, the team worked hard to rank fourteenth in the nation.  I helped my team claim the Bobby Sox national championship, marking the first time it had been won by a team outside of the state of California.  At Galena High School in Reno, NV, I served as a starting pitcher at the varsity level for four years.

    I have been teaching softball pitching and general softball skills since 2006, and I genuinely enjoy passing on the knowledge gained over years of experience and learning within the sport.  I have mastered and effectively thrown nine different pitches and enjoy teaching those pitches to aspiring athletes, along with other general softball skills.
