I connect well with people and I love to teach. I have taught in private and class situations with art, dance and Pilates. I am down to Earth, but also kind and sometimes bubbly. I go over classic techniques in painting and drawing, and also help with color mixing and perspective. One thing I really love helping people achieve is how to see to be able to paint and draw. I break things down into shapes that helps people with little ability to become more confident.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We will look together at the things that the student would like to paint or draw for the future, but have simple shapes to draw and paint that show contour, light, grey scale, value, and composition. We will focus on foundational skills. Then the student learns how to see shape. We will go over color, paint, brush strokes, perspective, and many other things before we dive into painting more complicated things. It's important that the student understands shape and light sources, and how to set up a painting. These are practices and foundations that all painters must have.
